The Cleanest Alternative Fuel Available Today
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a derivative of natural gas – the same natural gas used to heat homes, cook food and dry clothes. The difference is the compression. CNG is compressed so large volumes can be storedon board vehicles such as refuse trucks and transit buses.
Emissions: It Matters
CNG is the best and most pragmatic choice as a readily available emissions-reducing alternative fuel source.
On average, vehicles and machines that run on CNG emit 95 percent less smoke and soot, and 90 percent less carbon monoxide than gasoline and diesel engines. CNG also significantly reduces emissions of other major pollutants including nitrogen oxides, carbon dioxide and non-methane organic gases.
Easy to Be Green
CNG promotes high air quality, and it reduces greenhouse gases. It’s also renewable: methane from a variety of natural sources can be converted into CNG. AVSG is proud to offer 100% RNG-CNG (Renewable Natural Gas) at all of our CNG Fueling Locations. The use of RNG will allow all our customers to benefit from the Carbon Reduction that RNG brings.

Natural gas burns impeccably clean. Only buses that run on CNG can meet the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (US EPA) stringent 2010 particulate matter emission standards.
Cost Effective and Efficient
Natural gas provides a clear cost savings to users: it’s abundant and cheaper relative to crude oil – between 25 and 40 percent, on average. It also reduces dependence on foreign oil, ultimately contributing to our nation’s economy.
Today’s CNG-fueled engines employ optimized controls that ensure natural gas vehicles (NGVs) run as efficient as possible. CNG also burns slower than gasoline and distributes its power uniformly. With an octane rating of 130, it far exceeds the performance of even the most “ultra” brands of conventional gas.
